A Response to prominent Indians sign petition against Iran

The petition written by Baha’is and signed by prominent Indians can be found here

Here is a response to it by Mr. Manish Desai
It is pretty immature on the part of 86 Indians Petition to the Iranian Government for immediate release of the staff and faculty of the Bahá’í Institute of Higher Education.. As most of these eminent personalities are highly educated – some even authorities on law – it would have been appropriate that they should have verified the facts before making a petition. Has anyone of these personalities checked with the Government of Iran? Are petitions to be signed purely on single side of the story? On whose influence are signatures taken? Do these personalities know that the Government of India cannot support a resolution which is country specific?

Who created the sects in Bahai Faith?

Here is a letter published by the Orthodox Bahai Council of India which claims to be the true representative of Bahaullah and trashes the majority Bahai sect. Are the Bahais blind that they cannot see all of this and yet they claim to be the ones who will bring unity in this world? What a joke! Instead of trying to bring unity in this world, why don’t the Bahais try to bring unity about the 16 or 18 sects of the Bahai Faith? That could as well be the best thing the Bahais would have achieved!

–Letter starts here–

Dr. A. Parikh
Secretary of the National (Orthodox) Bahai Council of India

My Dear Bahá’í Friends!

Some of the friends enquire as to why the Divine Cause (Bahá’í Faith) has become divided into different sects?  What are the factors behind it?   Who is responsible for this division?

It is well understood why such questions should come to mind.  But it is sad that there is no discussion on such questions nor do we investigate the answers to such questions. While ‘Abdu’l-Bahá insisted that:

Shocking disclosure by Baha’i news India

The recent monthly circulation of Baha’is, The BAHÁ’Í NEWS I N D I A ISSUE VII JULY 2010 has revealed shocking facts, through an article titled “Preparations of Government of India Census 2011”, These are summarized as under:

1. There have been rigorous conversion activities over the past fifty years by the Baha’i Faith.

2. These conversions were accelerated with the construction of the Lotus Temple at Delhi and with the visits of Hands of the Cause Dr. Rahmatulláh Muhájir, and Amatu’l- Bahá Ruhiyyih Khánum.

3. Though the Baha’i records of the data on Baha’i population shows that one time it had crossed two millions yet the Census of India reports of 1971, 1981, 1991 and 2001 show only a fraction of the total number Baha’is throughout the country. This means that the census department of India fumbled four times to give accurate number of Baha’is. Just to cite an example, Baha’i census figures in 1991 was 5575 and in 2001 it was 11,324 against 2.2 millions claimed by the Baha’i administration.

NSA of India “revises” numbers for India

A Notable Act By National Spiritual Assembly Of The Baha’is Of India. Baha’i population now stands at 6 million minus 2.2 million.

It is indeed a notable act that the National Spiritual Assembly of the Bahai’s of India deleted the figure “2.2 million Bahais” from official site of Bahais of India. But it is equally regretted that the actual number of Bahais which is 11,324 was not put instead to give the exact number of Bahais to its viewers and as a mark of respect for the dedicated census official of India who went door to door for carrying out such a huge census.

Bahai Census: Number of LSAs in India

The Bahai administration is dishonest in reporting the number of Bahais in India. Similarly they show the same duplicity and dishonesty in reporting the number of Local Spiritual Assemblies (LSA) of India as well. This emphatically reveals that there is something indeed wrong about the aims and purpose of the Bahai administration.

I do not know how to solve the above problem, except to be completely honest and open to the Bahais of India and to people who may be interested in the Faith. It does little good to ‘hide’ things. It may be very unpleasant for those Bahais who come to know the truth after a few years in the Faith. At that time, it is likely that he will feel cheated and left with only two options either to leave the Faith or become disenchanted.

From UHJ to NSA to SBC/RBC down to LSAs, all are selections in the name of elections

Bahai Elections: Brainless Exercise?

Bahai Elections: Brainless Exercise?

A. UHJ Elections

1 – Every member of the present UHJ is from International Teaching Centre (ITC).It is clear indication that a Bahai is first appointed on board of counselor, then he is promoted to ITC and finally he is elevated as UHJ member.

2 – Mr. Razavi and Correa when promoted to ITC, they were given a world tour (Made a part of the Orchestra) to justify their programmed predetermined election.

3 – Mr. Omid Seioshanseian in India and Mr. Jabbar Eidhelkhani in Bangladesh are sending false reports to UHJ with the intention of getting appointed on ITC.

Baha’i Control On Their Electoral System – Part I

IT IS SELECTION NOT ELECTION

Bahai Elections: Brainless Exercise?

Bahai Elections: Brainless Exercise?

A. A study of Baha’i institutions

Many control mechanisms relate to the electoral system and the realities of power are existing in the Bahai community. Early Baha’is allowed nominations to be made for Baha’i office, and also allowed campaigning for Baha’i Institution. When early Baha’is asked `Abdu’l-Baha how they should conduct elections for local spiritual assemblies he replied that they should follow the rules for election common in their own country
(`Abdu’l-Baha 1908-1916: I,7).

Van den Hoonard points out that nominations and canvassing for Baha’i office were standard practice in North America in the time of `Abdu’l-Baha (van den Hoonard 1996:157-158).
