Extension of International Bahai Endowments

One of the most enduring works of the Guardian was the preparation of a secure foundation for the support of the World Spiritual and Administrative Centre of the Faith in the Holy Land. The acquisition of properties situated in the heart of Mt. Carmel and in the plain of Akka was essential to this purpose and was vigorously pressed by Shoghi Effendi throughout his ministry.

The decade of the fifties saw a marked acceleration of this process and notable victories were won. Foremost was the cleansing of the area immediately surrounding the Shrine of Baha’u’llah from Covenant-breakers and the acquisition of their properties, which were expropriated by the Government of Israel and transferred to the Faith. The purchase of land for the future Mashriqu’l-Adhkar on Mt. Carmel was another milestone at the World Centre, as was the addition of the plot on Mt. Carmel, formerly owned by the sister of a “notorious enemy” of ‘Abdu’l-Baha, which opened the way to the building of the International Baha’i Archives. Other significant purchases provided the land needed for the development on Mt. Carmel of extensive new gardens containing the “arc”, about which, in future, the various buildings of the World Administrative Centre will be built. Another important step was the pur¬chase of five houses at the foot of Mt. Carmel, part of the German colony settled before 1870 by the Templars, in anticipation of the coming of the Lord of Hosts. The precincts of Baha’¬u’llah’s Shrine were protected by further additions of land, and a house near Bahji which had been used by ‘Abdu’1-Baha was acquired.

Establishment of a Bahai Court in Israel

Following the passing of the beloved Guardian, the Hands of the Cause Residing in the Holy Land made a further study of the possibility of establishing a Baha’i Court in Israel, and in November, 1959 announced:

“We wish to assure the believers that every effort will be made to establish a Baha’i Court in the Holy Land prior to the date set for this election. We should however bear in mind that the Guardian himself clearly indicated this goal, due to the strong trend towards the secularization of religious courts in this part of the world, might not be achieved.”

The International Baha’i Council made a further study of the possibility of establishing a Baha’i Court in the Holy Land. It was found that circumstances existing in the State of Israel made it impossible to attain this goal of the Crusade in the manner stipulated by Shoghi Effendi. The Hands of the Cause Residing in the Holy Land confirmed this -finding.

Israel Presidents and Head of State visit Bahai Centres

1-President Mr. Izhak Ben Zvi (1954)

(President Izhak Ben Zvi of Israel)

(President Izhak Ben Zvi of Israel)

The official visit of the President of the State of Israel, Mr. Izhak Ben Zvi, and Mrs. Ben Zvi, to the Guardian in April, 1954 led to a most cordial relationship between them, and Shoghi Effendi later called upon the President and Mrs. Ben Zvi in Jerusalem. On December 6, 1955 the Mayor of Haifa, Aba Khoushy, visited the Baha’i House of Worship inWilmette, Illinois, and was received by Mrs. Amelia Collins, Vice-President of the International Baha’i Council and Mr. Horace Holley, Secretary of the American National Spiritual Assembly.

Bahais In Iran – Why the fuss?

Regarding the hue and cry about the arrest of some Bahais in Iran, I would like to make some points.

Firstly, the government of Iran is an independent government with its independent laws and independent constitution. It has its reasons for the arrest of these Bahais and we should respect that. Just as America, Israel and the West in general would like to maintain their sovereignity, Iran would like to do that as well.

Secondly, people should keep in mind that world-wide, Bahais do not have a track record of respecting local laws (except in the West and Israel). Bahais frequently break local laws and have been help responsible for conversion activities, spying etc. Hence it is difficult to give them benefit of doubt that the Bahais are indeed “innocent”.

Thirdly, if Amercia / the West is so concerned about the state of the Bahais in Iran, why does it not offer asylum to these Bahais in America, Israel, Britain. That would solve the problem once and for all. All Iranis in any case are hankering to go to America. This move will kill two birds with one stone.

Incidentally Bahais are banned in Saudi Arabia as well. If a Bahai is caught in Saudi Arabia, he would probably be executed for blasphemy (a lot harsher than being arrested). I dont see people making too much noise about it (rather any noise about it) – perhaps because Saudi is an ally of the West and Iran is not.

So this whole thing about persecution of Bahais in Iran is hogwash. Bahais are banned not only in Iran. They are banned all over the Middle East and in several other Muslim countries. Iran is being singled out because they want to paint a poor picture of Iran in the media. That is all.

Wait, there more…I secretly believe that the Bahais dont want their “friends” in Iran to be released. What purpose will that serve? One Bahai in prison is more valuable than one free Bahai. Simply because it gives this community to be in the press all the time, it gets them brownie points for sympathy and in any case, apart from the sympathy factor, there is’nt much to talk about the Bahai Faith.

Infallibility(?) of the Bahai Universal House of Justice

The appointment of the Universal House of Justice has always been the bane of the Bahai Faith – simply because there was no provision for the UHJ to take over the Guardianship of the Bahai Faith. Guardianship was always meant to be vested in the lineage of Shoghi Effendi. But Allah obviously decreed otherwise. Shoghi died without leaving any successor thus throwing the entire Bahai world into a tizzy. So much for the infallibility of Abdul Baha and Shoghi!

The spin doctors at the helm of the affairs of the Bahai world have obviously done their job well for they have reasonably succeeded in throwing dust into the eyes of their “faithful” followers. I say reasonably succeeded because after Shoghi, the entire Bahai community has been split, at last count, into 17 sects each one of which discredits the other! I have said this earlier and I say it again – Why try so hard to unite the world? Baha’is should first and unite their own. But more on that later.

Who is the Head of the Bahai Faith?

Found this article on the Internet – thought it would be interesting for my readers…

The Universal House of Justice, in Haifa, Israel, claims to be the Head of the Baha’i Faith. The PDF files attached here (“Selections, 1988 letter to UHJ”, and, “1994 detailed response to UHJ”) challenge that claim, or, rather, question the rationality of that claim.

Bahai Clergy (or Mullahs) UHJ - Infallible members of Bahai Faith

Bahai Clergy (or Mullahs) UHJ – Infallible members of Bahai Faith

The PDF files are taken from letters I wrote to the UHJ in 1988 and 1994. I was once a Baha’i (decades ago), though I am no longer. My purpose in sharing the letters is to caution seekers investigating the Baha’i Faith. Nevertheless, I expect that the arguments contained in the PDF files may also be of use to those Baha’is who have either broken with, or distanced themselves from, the UHJ, and I wish to make my letters available to them as well. My primary purpose, however, is simply this: to speak the truth to the best of my ability, for I believe that truth matters. I may be wrong, of course, and what I think to be true may not be true at all. But perhaps that is where the UHJ and I truly part ways, for the UHJ believes that, in its collective decisions, it cannot be wrong; that it is infallible in its pronouncements. Such claims, I believe, call for very close scrutiny indeed.

Why I left the Bahai Faith? True Story…

This was one post which I got on my FaceBook page. I thought it would be interesting to share…

You can visit my Facebook page at http://www.facebook.com/BahaiAwareness

Shalom Aleichem!

Some days ago,I dropped out of the Bahai – Faith and now,I’d like to share my decisions,so I don’t want to run the faith down but just to use my freedom of speech.(God bless Democracy)

That’s why I dropped out of Bahai-Faith:

Well,I think we don’t need a new world order but just a new view on it and a new way of acting which is based on ethics.Democracy is best because it allows itself to get better.

Why the Bahai Faith is a Cult…

Much as the Bahais would like to disagree, the fact remains that the Bahai Faith is a cult. But don’t take anyone’s word for it. Based on “Combatting Cult Mind Control” by Steven Hassan (cult expert), here are the criteria for determining “cults”.
1. How new members are found

Dangerous Cults: With many cults, you don’t get to know what you are getting into until after you have made a commitment

Baha’i Faith: There are secrets but these secrets are not known to the poor, innocent, newly converted Baha’is. Does the common baha’i know that the Baha’i Elections are fully controlled by the “All Male, Supreme, All Infallibale, Haifan Organization”? Do they know that these are not spiritual but highly fraud and controlled? there are many secrets and are available on the internet. Search on google for “Pakistan Baha’i Election Fraud“, “Baha’i Control on their Electoral System“, “Baha’i Election fraud in India”.

What World Unity? Bahais Should First Unite Their Own!

An undated press release serves as an advertizing of sorts for Joel B. Marangella who is“recognized by the Orthodox Baha’i Faith as the third guardian of the Baha’i Faith, the authorized interpreter of the Faith’s writings and, as guardian, according to ‘Abdu’l-Baha’s Will and Testament, to be the sacred head for life of the Universal House of Justice when it comes into being in its proper form.”[1] From its very inception the Baha’ism has suffered from sects, denominations, isms, schisms and offshoots of various sorts. The Baha’i Faith developed as an offshoot of the Babi Faith, which developed as an offshoot of Shaykhism, which developed as an offshoot of  Ithna-‘Ashariyyih , whichdeveloped as an offshoot of Sufism, which developed as an offshoot of Shi’ite , which developed as a denomination of   Islam.

Opium Smoking Baha’is had low ideas of honour….

Subhe Azal with Family

Subhe Azal with Family

Boykin correctly pointed out that the Bab had appointed Mirza Yahya as his successor. Baha’u’llah essentially stole control of the movement from his brother, despite the fact that the Bab, the very manifestation of God (in their view) had appointed Mirza Yahya.

The Baha’i explanation of this is as ingenious as it is sinister. They claim that the Bab only appointed Mirza Yahya publicly as a rouse or cover for Baha’u’llah. That is, the Bab actually appointed Baha’u’llah as his successor, but publicly put forward Mirza Yahya in the event of persecution.

Wilson states it thus:

“We have seen that Subh-i-Azal, the half-brother of Baha’u’llah, was appointed by the Bab as his successor. According to Abdul Baha, this appointment was a dishonest subterfuge on the part of Baha, arranged by him through secret correspondence with the Bab, in order that Baha might be relieved of danger and persecution and be protected from interference. . . This account shows the low ideas of honour and truthfulness in the minds of Baha and Abdul Baha” (Wilson, p. 204).
