A Response to prominent Indians sign petition against Iran

The petition written by Baha’is and signed by prominent Indians can be found here

http://www.bahai.in/news/national-news-of-the-bahais-of-india/petition-to-the-iranian-government-for-immediate-release-of-the-staff-and-faculty-of-the-bahai-institute-of-higher-education.html

Here is a response to it by Mr. Manish Desai
It is pretty immature on the part of 86 Indians Petition to the Iranian Government for immediate release of the staff and faculty of the Bahá’í Institute of Higher Education.. As most of these eminent personalities are highly educated – some even authorities on law – it would have been appropriate that they should have verified the facts before making a petition. Has anyone of these personalities checked with the Government of Iran? Are petitions to be signed purely on single side of the story? On whose influence are signatures taken? Do these personalities know that the Government of India cannot support a resolution which is country specific?

Who created the sects in Bahai Faith?

Here is a letter published by the Orthodox Bahai Council of India which claims to be the true representative of Bahaullah and trashes the majority Bahai sect. Are the Bahais blind that they cannot see all of this and yet they claim to be the ones who will bring unity in this world? What a joke! Instead of trying to bring unity in this world, why don’t the Bahais try to bring unity about the 16 or 18 sects of the Bahai Faith? That could as well be the best thing the Bahais would have achieved!

–Letter starts here–

Dr. A. Parikh
Secretary of the National (Orthodox) Bahai Council of India

My Dear Bahá’í Friends!

Some of the friends enquire as to why the Divine Cause (Bahá’í Faith) has become divided into different sects?  What are the factors behind it?   Who is responsible for this division?

It is well understood why such questions should come to mind.  But it is sad that there is no discussion on such questions nor do we investigate the answers to such questions. While ‘Abdu’l-Bahá insisted that:

Message to Bahai Youth of Malaysia – Must See

While doing research for BahaiAwareness.com, I came across this Blog which I think should be read by Muslims and by Bahais. The blog which I am referring to is http://formerbahai.blogspot.com and as the name will show is authored by a former Bahai who has since long  reverted back to Islam.

In this blog, my friend reveals amongst other things, what caused him to be disillusioned by the Bahai Faith and what contradictions he saw in the Faith.

My intention is not to reproduce the entire blog here – however from time to time, I may choose articles to highlight in The Bahai Insider. For now, I leave you with his general message to the Bahai Youth of Malaysia.

A Comment from a Reader of The Bahai Insider

Within a couple of hours of hosting this blog, I received a feedback in response to the article Elections of the UHJ. This reader claims that the present-day UHJ is a bogus one and there is no legal sanctity of the same in the Bahai Faith. He also substantiates his statement with a statement from Shoghi Effendi. The entire transcript of the feedback from this reader is given below.

I have only one assertion to make. The Bahais (and here even I am confused as to which is the true Bahai Faith – Read more on the Sects of Bahais) seems oblivious to the presence of sects since the death of Shoghi Effendi. Simply ex-communicating dissenting voices or cursing those who are called Covenant Breakers is not going to help anyone, least of all the Bahai Faith itself. Whatever happened to independent investigation of truth? I let my readers decide.

Bahai Activities in Indonesia

The National Spiritual Assembly of Baha’is of Indonesia was elected on 21st April 1954.

The Baha’i administration in Haifa entrusted the propagation of the Baha’i Faith in Indonesia to India and of Mentawai Islands to Australia. Baha’is went on forming local Assemblies. They went for mass teaching approach towards propagation of the Baha’i Faith which resulted in the growth of the Baha’i population there. In 1957 they acquired a temple site to build a Baha’i Temple in future. At the same time, Baha’is went on incorporating their local Assembly to avoid any action from the Government of Indonesia in future.

Bahá’ís arrested in Indonesia on Criminal Charges of violating “The Law of Child Protection”

The Indonesian Police arrested three Bahá’ís on criminal charges of teaching and converting Muslim children in Lampung Timur, Sumatra. The Police mentioned there is very compelling evidence of the crime and violation.

The Government of Indonesia requires that official religions comply with a number of Ministry of Religious Affairs and other ministerial directives in their registration and activities. Among these are the Regulation on Building Houses of Worship (Joint-Ministerial Decree No. 1/1969); the Guidelines for the Propagation of Religion (Ministerial Decision No. 70/1978); Overseas Aid to Religious Institutions in Indonesia (Ministerial Decision No. 20/1978); and Proselytizing Guidelines (No. 77/1978). Law of Child Protection 23-2002 which states that “whoever converts or attempts to convert children to other religion will be charged up to 5 years prison or fine of U$10,000 or both.

Victory for the Different Sects of Baha’is. Historic Verdict Quashes Patent on Use of the Word ‘Baha’i’

Court rules that the use of the word Bahai is now open to all sects of the Bahai Faith

Court rules that the use of the word Bahai is now open to all sects of the Bahai Faith

In a historic verdict that will have long standing effect, the Federal Court of the United States of America has quashed the appeal of the majority Baha’i Faith (popularly known as Heterodox Baha’i Faith – HBF) for patent on use of term Baha’i for itself. Although this is not the only time such a verdict has been passed (such verdicts have come twice earlier), this verdict comes at a time when the Baha’i Faith is gripped under sectarian claims.

Never in the past has the Baha’i Faith witnessed such sectarian challenges. It must be noted that minority sects like the Orthodox Baha’i Faith (OBF), Unitarian Bahais (UB) and Bahais Under the Provision of Covenant (BUPC), Reform Baha’i Faith have faced discrimination at hands of the majority HBF for ages. These sects have been gasping for survival and this verdict gives them a new life and sense of hope.

Baha’is are not supposed to indulge in politics but the Universal House of Justice does!!!

Baha’u’llah has repeatedly warned the Baha’i not to indulge in politics:

Bahais indulge in politics all over the world

Baha’u’llah addressing His followers wrote: “Forbear ye from concerning yourselves with the affairs of this world and all that pertaineth unto it, or from meddling with the activities of those who are its outward leaders. The one true God, exalted be His glory, hath bestowed the government of the earth upon the kings. To none is given the right to act in any manner that would run counter to the considered views of them who are in authority.”

(Gleanings from the writings of Baha’u’llah p. 241)

Duplicity and Hypocrisy in The Bahá’í Faith

THE TALK OF MR. PAYMAN MOHAJER IS IN SHARP CONTRADICTION WITH THE WRITINGS OF SHOGHI EFFENDI AND THE MESSAGES OF THE UNIVERSAL HOUSE OF JUSTICE

Bahá’ís indeed have strange and mysterious ways of operating. While to the world they declare that Ruhi books are selfless service of the Faith to the humanity towards moral upliftment, but the hidden agenda is conversion.

Therefore to hide their duplicity and hypocrisy, Bahá’ís always have two types of statements one is for “general public” and other “only for Bahá’ís”. One will find the two statements always in sharp contradiction to each other.
