A Comment from a Reader of The Bahai Insider

Within a couple of hours of hosting this blog, I received a feedback in response to the article Elections of the UHJ. This reader claims that the present-day UHJ is a bogus one and there is no legal sanctity of the same in the Bahai Faith. He also substantiates his statement with a statement from Shoghi Effendi. The entire transcript of the feedback from this reader is given below.

I have only one assertion to make. The Bahais (and here even I am confused as to which is the true Bahai Faith – Read more on the Sects of Bahais) seems oblivious to the presence of sects since the death of Shoghi Effendi. Simply ex-communicating dissenting voices or cursing those who are called Covenant Breakers is not going to help anyone, least of all the Bahai Faith itself. Whatever happened to independent investigation of truth? I let my readers decide.

Bahai Activities in Indonesia

The National Spiritual Assembly of Baha’is of Indonesia was elected on 21st April 1954.

The Baha’i administration in Haifa entrusted the propagation of the Baha’i Faith in Indonesia to India and of Mentawai Islands to Australia. Baha’is went on forming local Assemblies. They went for mass teaching approach towards propagation of the Baha’i Faith which resulted in the growth of the Baha’i population there. In 1957 they acquired a temple site to build a Baha’i Temple in future. At the same time, Baha’is went on incorporating their local Assembly to avoid any action from the Government of Indonesia in future.

Bahá’ís arrested in Indonesia on Criminal Charges of violating “The Law of Child Protection”

The Indonesian Police arrested three Bahá’ís on criminal charges of teaching and converting Muslim children in Lampung Timur, Sumatra. The Police mentioned there is very compelling evidence of the crime and violation.

The Government of Indonesia requires that official religions comply with a number of Ministry of Religious Affairs and other ministerial directives in their registration and activities. Among these are the Regulation on Building Houses of Worship (Joint-Ministerial Decree No. 1/1969); the Guidelines for the Propagation of Religion (Ministerial Decision No. 70/1978); Overseas Aid to Religious Institutions in Indonesia (Ministerial Decision No. 20/1978); and Proselytizing Guidelines (No. 77/1978). Law of Child Protection 23-2002 which states that “whoever converts or attempts to convert children to other religion will be charged up to 5 years prison or fine of U$10,000 or both.

A good site for Bahai books

While surfing the Internet recently, I came across this blog which host a mine of information through books about the Bahai Faith. Most of these books are in Persian, but they contain references from Bahai books. You can visit this blog by clicking on: http://bahaibooks.blogfa.com

I think every Bahai who can read Persian should take the trouble and download the books and read up.

Victory for the Different Sects of Baha’is. Historic Verdict Quashes Patent on Use of the Word ‘Baha’i’

Court rules that the use of the word Bahai is now open to all sects of the Bahai Faith

Court rules that the use of the word Bahai is now open to all sects of the Bahai Faith

In a historic verdict that will have long standing effect, the Federal Court of the United States of America has quashed the appeal of the majority Baha’i Faith (popularly known as Heterodox Baha’i Faith – HBF) for patent on use of term Baha’i for itself. Although this is not the only time such a verdict has been passed (such verdicts have come twice earlier), this verdict comes at a time when the Baha’i Faith is gripped under sectarian claims.

Never in the past has the Baha’i Faith witnessed such sectarian challenges. It must be noted that minority sects like the Orthodox Baha’i Faith (OBF), Unitarian Bahais (UB) and Bahais Under the Provision of Covenant (BUPC), Reform Baha’i Faith have faced discrimination at hands of the majority HBF for ages. These sects have been gasping for survival and this verdict gives them a new life and sense of hope.

The Elections of The Universal House of Justice

There is little or nothing “spiritual” about Baha’i administration. It is simply a “modernist” facade on backwardness!

Bahai Elections: Confused?

Bahai Elections: Confused?

The Universal House of Justice is head of the Baha’i Faith. Its permanent seat is at the Baha’i World Centre in Haifa, and all members reside here for the duration of their service.

The regular election of the nine members of the House of Justice occurs every five years at an international convention, held in Haifa. The most recent election was in 2008.

Till date there have been 10 elections (‘63,’68.’73,’78,’83,’88,’93, 98,’03, and ‘08) of UHJ. There have been five by-elections, in 1982, 1987, 2000, 2005 and 2010.

Russian Bahai Census: How Many Actually?

For Baha’is decimal places don’t count! Baha’i Faith transacts only in hundreds. Small currencies don’t exist. And now, this has been seen in Russia!

No one would believe that behind the solid iron curtain and fool proof government watch, such manipulations can prosper! Strange but true, the Baha’i Faith official census can fool all systems.

Going by the words (and not spirit) of deceased guardian of Baha’i Faith – Shoghi Effendi – “Bahá’u’lláh has entrusted the sacred duty of every Baha’i to spread the Faith”, the Baha’is have found an easier way to spread the faith. SPREAD THE NUMBER!

Shocking disclosure by Baha’i news India

The recent monthly circulation of Baha’is, The BAHÁ’Í NEWS I N D I A ISSUE VII JULY 2010 has revealed shocking facts, through an article titled “Preparations of Government of India Census 2011”, These are summarized as under:

1. There have been rigorous conversion activities over the past fifty years by the Baha’i Faith.

2. These conversions were accelerated with the construction of the Lotus Temple at Delhi and with the visits of Hands of the Cause Dr. Rahmatulláh Muhájir, and Amatu’l- Bahá Ruhiyyih Khánum.

3. Though the Baha’i records of the data on Baha’i population shows that one time it had crossed two millions yet the Census of India reports of 1971, 1981, 1991 and 2001 show only a fraction of the total number Baha’is throughout the country. This means that the census department of India fumbled four times to give accurate number of Baha’is. Just to cite an example, Baha’i census figures in 1991 was 5575 and in 2001 it was 11,324 against 2.2 millions claimed by the Baha’i administration.

Bahai Population in Iran: Still Counting?

Iran Census

How Many Bahais in Iran? Can we believe even these numbers?

There has always been confusion about the actual population of the followers of the Baha’i Faith in every country since its origin. Regarding their numbers, “millions” is the usual figure claimed by them.

The reason for this confusion is the fact that Baha’is are wont to give fake ‘percentage Baha’i population’ for every country. Thanks to the internet – their lies are getting exposed. The number of countries and localities varies with each web site. There is ‘no consensus’ regarding the actual number of countries, the actual number of localities, and the actual number of Baha’i. This trouble in the Baha’i population is not generated by the Baha’i Administration themselves but it is just the continuation of what Abdul Baha and Shoghi Effendi have done.

World Bahai Census: How Many Bahais?

Recently two articles posted on net effectively analyzed the exaggerated Baha’i claims of their numbers. One was “Exit by troops” (http://www.angelfire.com/ca3/bigquestions/troopsexit.html) and the other “Three types of Baha’i census of India”. (http://bahaicensusindia.blogspot.com)

The first article is a very moderate view of the author, whereas the second article “The Three Type of Baha’i census of India” is much deeper analysiation supported by documents authenticated by figures.

The common point in the two analyses is the fact that the key reason for this huge discrepancy in Baha’i census is that no one is ever removed from the membership rolls unless they write a letter to the National Center renouncing their belief. So a person who becomes disillusioned and simply drifts away can remain on the rolls indefinitely. Once a Baha’i then always a Baha’i even after his death.’
